Couples Therapy
Every relationship has its own rhythm — its own language, its own wounds, and its own capacity for growth. When that rhythm feels off, it can be painful, confusing, and isolating. Couples therapy is a space to slow down, tune in, and find your way back to each other.
My approach — Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy
I specialize in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), one of the most well-researched and effective approaches to couples work available. At its core, EFT is about understanding the deeper emotions and unmet needs driving the patterns in your relationship — the cycles of conflict, withdrawal, or disconnection that can feel impossible to break on your own.
Together we'll create a safe space where both partners can explore their vulnerabilities honestly, communicate more effectively, and rebuild the emotional bond that brought you together in the first place. EFT isn't about assigning blame or declaring a winner — it's about helping both of you feel seen, heard, and understood by each other.
I also bring a somatic, body-aware lens to couples work — paying attention to how tension, stress, and disconnection show up physically, and using those cues as doorways to deeper understanding and healing.
Does any of this sound familiar?
You keep having the same argument without ever really resolving it
You feel more like roommates than partners
Trust has been broken and you're not sure how to rebuild it
You love each other but struggle to feel truly connected
A major life transition — a new baby, a loss, a career change — has put unexpected strain on your relationship
You want to strengthen your relationship before small issues become bigger ones
If any of this resonates, you're in the right place.
Who is couples therapy for?
All relationships are welcome here — married couples, long-term partners, newly dating, ethically non-monogamous relationships, and everything in between. I believe every relationship deserves care and attention, and I bring a culturally sensitive, non-judgmental approach to every couple I work with.
You don't have to be in crisis to come to couples therapy. Many couples come simply because they want to grow closer, communicate better, and build something that lasts.
Ready to take the first step? I offer a free 20-minute consultation where we can talk about what's bringing you in and see if working together feels like the right fit. No pressure, no commitment — just a conversation.
Palette of Hope Counseling offers couples therapy in Boulder, CO and surrounding areas including Louisville, Lafayette, and Longmont.
